What to do, what to do? You've just moved into your new pad, and have been at your new job for 6 months. You've got money saved up to furnish your new place in style, which includes something you've always wanted - a Game Room.

Not just any game room, but one where you can escape; a place to relax and unwind after a busy day at work. A spot to not only watch the game and have a beer, but a place to play. This room will have it all.

A comfy chair or two for you and your friends, maybe a minibar and definitely a games table. But what kind? What type of table should you include in your new hideaway? You have several choices; you just need to decide which one you will buy.

First of all, you could choose the ever-popular pool table. Definitely a good investment, but is it what you really want? If you're looking for some fast fun that anyone can enjoy, a pool table might not be the way to go. Pool games can be long, and may intimidate any guests who don't have a lot of experience with a cue.

Or you could consider a ping-pong table. These are fun, but do tend to take up a lot of room. Of course, one of the benefits of ping-pong is that you can play alone (with one side of the table raised) or with 3 other friends. It does lend itself well to allowing multiple players. However, they do take up a lot of room, and space is definitely a consideration.

A foosball table is another option, and there's not really much to say against them. They do take time to break in and if not cared for properly can actually be difficult to use. But they are rousing fun for any age.

Finally, you could consider an air hockey table? They are available in a large range of sizes (the really small ones can even be used on a tabletop), and are very reasonably priced.

A game of air hockey is short, played until one person reaches 7 points. It is easy to learn and fast-paced enough to keep even the most distractible person interested. Air hockey is a fun game that beginners and experts alike seldom tire of.

Because air hockey tables come is such a variety of sizes (just under 4-feet long for the tabletop models and up to 8-feet for a professional table), there is sure to be a table out there that will fit into your new room.

Another good thing about air hockey is that once you've bought your table, mallets and pucks, there's nothing else to purchase (unless your dog eats a puck or two...). No chalk to buy, no cue sticks to replace, no ping pong balls to dig out from under the couch. Yes, air hockey is a game that just keeps going. No matter what type of game table you choose to invest in, you'll reap the benefits in fun for years to come.
